In my practice, your appointment time is set aside specifically for you. Whether we booked your session months in advance or just a couple of weeks prior, that time has been reserved with intention—because your therapy matters, and so does your time.
I kindly require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. This policy is in place not only to honor the work we’re doing together, but also to ensure that others who are waiting for support have the opportunity to access care. When appointments are canceled last-minute or missed without notice, it directly affects the availability of services for others and impacts the sustainability of my practice.
Therapy is a shared commitment. As much as this space is for you, it is also a professional service—one that requires mutual respect for time, energy, and consistency. Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows make it challenging to maintain a healthy therapeutic relationship. Therefore:
- If you cancel without 72 hours’ notice more than once, we will have a conversation about whether this is the right time for therapy.
- Clients with two or more consecutive late cancellations or no-shows may be discharged from the practice.
Most of my clients are engaged in long-term work, with sessions booked weekly, biweekly, monthly, or even quarterly. I pre-schedule 5–6 sessions at a time to support consistency and planning for both of us. This structure is designed to offer you a predictable rhythm and ensure I can be fully available for the work we’re doing together.
I deeply value the trust my clients place in me, and in return, I ask for reliability and consideration. These boundaries are not punitive—they are essential for creating a safe, effective, and respectful therapeutic environment for everyone involved.
Thank you for honoring this space and the work we do together.
